Custom Motor Development
If you are looking for a custom motor to develop your equipment, then you have landed at the right place. Innotec Power is able to design and build custom motors, in a very quick prototype time period. For typical frame sizes, this can be done within 6 weeks.
Need for Custom
The problem that most of our OEM customers have with off-the shelf motors is that the efficiency is great at the rated speed – power and along a line of optimized use. However, when you go below that line (reduce speed given a given battery voltage), efficiency can reduce.
Understanding what power level and speed you need is important for motor development. To do this, there can be calculated torque values or measuring actual performance of a motor in your application and then design a custom motor based on that feedback.

Custom PM Motors – Custom BLDC Motors

With a custom motor solution, you can choose your set points to optimize efficiency.

The second part of the customization process is choosing the mechanical customization options. As an OEM, you might opt for an existing frame size that is under production with Innotec Power. Innotec holds IP for over 15 different diameter frame sizes that are in production throughout the year. Selecting within these frame sizes decreases development costs and speeds time to volume production.
Within a given kW – RPM requirement, there might be 3 different frame sizes already available. Increasing diameter to decrease height and vice versa. Matching mating requirements with end cover flange designs or foot mountings. Providing a shaft configuration for mating.
If those diameter sizes do not suit your requirements, Innotec can build a unit to match your requirement or if you have an electrical design already in place then Innotec can build out the unit according to those requirements.
