Brushless DC Drive Motors
Brushless Motors: Efficiency
The largest challenge in the hybrid and electric vehicle industry today is battery storage. By using the PMGL BLDC motors, companies around the world are improving the time between charges. For every percentage point that PMGL’s BLDC motors are higher in efficiency than a competitors’ motor, your complete vehicle is increasing in the same ratio for its time between charge.
Dual Shaft BLDC
PMGL offers BLDCs with the option of having dual shafts or shafts that come out of both end plates. This can decrease the total space requirement and allows for one less component in the total assembly.
Direct Drive BLDC versus Geared BLDC
Less is more. When it comes to hybrid and electric vehicles, BLDC motors can reduce transmission systems prone to failure and thus reduce the size and weight of everything mechanical.
Depending on cost sensitivity, direct drive and geared motors options are available. While direct drive systems offer greater efficiency, their size and thus costs will be higher than a geared motor. To best evaluate the options, a close look at the application’s rpms are required.
Hub Motors
Hub motors reduce mechanical errors by eliminating shafts and bearings from motors. These motors directly attach to the wheel of a vehicle and have the greatest system efficiency.
