Innotec Power DCGO-14 open-frame 14 kW DC generator set with Kohler KSD1403TC diesel engine and flywheel-mounted permanent magnet alternator

The DCGO-14 is a 14 kW variable-speed DC generator set built around a Kohler turbocharged diesel and an Innotec Power 310 series permanent magnet alternator. It is available on a 24 V or 48 V nominal bus, and feeds a battery bank or a DC load directly — there is no inverter stage and no fixed engine speed.

Permanent magnet alternator

Innotec Power 310 series flywheel-mounted PMA, rated 14 kW DC with a maximum speed of 3,000 rpm and a working range of 2,200–3,000 rpm. Brushless and bearing-less construction, Class H insulation, forced cooling with an internal fan, and a high variable frequency output with low ripple.

Control panel and protection

Every DCGO genset ships with a variable-speed DC genset controller running a precision PID loop, which matches the charging characteristic rather than simply holding a fixed voltage. Protection covers overvoltage, overcurrent, overspeed, overheat, thermal and short circuit.

Fuel tank options

Three fuel configurations are available: open-frame with no tank, an integrated tank of 200, 400 or 600 litres, or a custom capacity to suit the installation.

Why a DC genset rather than an AC set plus rectifier

A DC genset lowers operating cost by removing the conversion stage. A passive rectifier feeds the DC bus directly and engine speed is varied to regulate voltage, so the machine is not tied to a fixed 1,500 or 1,800 rpm just to hold frequency. Peak efficiency is engineered above 93%, and the alternator is brushless and bearing-less — no slip rings, no exciter, no diodes to fail.
