48.5 Nm continuous at 1,800 RPM · 142 Nm peak · 255 frame

The 255-AZZS72-125 is a 9 kW 72 volt BLDC motor built for high torque at moderate speed. It holds 48.5 Nm continuously at 1,800 RPM on 125 Arms, and reaches 142 Nm at 375 Arms — close to three times continuous, from a 43 kg frame.

At 0.388 Nm per amp this is one of the higher torque constants in the 255 range, and it is what lets the machine produce nearly fifty newton-metres from a hundred and twenty-five amps. That combination — substantial torque, moderate speed, manageable current — is what makes a direct drive practical where the alternative is a faster motor and a reduction stage. Removing the gearbox removes the backlash, the oil, the noise and the service interval, and returns the efficiency lost in reduction as useful output at the shaft.

Rotor inertia is 0.01352 kg·m², which is substantial for this frame. The machine carries real momentum, so it rides through a momentary jam rather than stalling — useful on augers, mixers and conveyor heads that occasionally meet resistance. The same property makes it a poor choice for duty that starts and stops many times a minute. Torque is flat from standstill to rated speed at every current up to 250 Arms, and the peak curve holds all the way to 1,800 RPM, so the full 26.7 kW and 142 Nm are available across the entire working band rather than only at low speed.

At 150 Hz rated frequency the drive requirement is undemanding and this is an easy motor to pair with any 72 volt controller.

Quality and compliance

Manufactured at our ISO 9001:2015 certified plant in Faridabad, India. Designed and tested to IEC 60034 — performance and rating to IEC 60034-1, IP64 enclosure to IEC 60034-5, mounting designations to IEC 60034-7, and Class H insulation to IEC 60085.

Every motor is individually tested before dispatch, not batch-sampled: winding resistance, insulation resistance, high-voltage withstand, back-EMF constant, no-load and loaded run, and temperature rise. Test reports are available on request.

Where this motor is used

  • Direct-drive augers, mixers and feed screws that would otherwise need a reduction gearbox
  • Winch, hoist and capstan drives on electric equipment
  • Conveyor head drives running continuously at moderate speed under variable load
  • Traction and drive wheels on electric utility vehicles
  • Deck and hatch machinery on 72 V marine systems
